Messengers of the Good News

“For we speak as messengers who have been approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. he is the one who examines the motives of our hearts.” - I Thessalonians 2:4 NLT

Paul & Silas knew their purpose – to be messengers of the Good News of Jesus Christ. We share in that mission, and when we have to choose between pleasing God and pleasing people, God must always come first. Our faith pleases Him, and when we act in it, we are fulfilled in our purpose!

“Are You Here, Dad?”

I woke up Tyler, my 3-year-old, today. His first sleepy words were “Are you here, Dad?” Then, a smile as he realized that I, indeed, was there.

Last night I taught at our School of Ministry, so Tyler went to sleep without me there to help tuck him in. He was asleep by the time I got home, unaware that his loving father had arrived and was watching over him.

God, our Father, never leaves or forsakes us. But there are times when we “sleep” unaware of His loving presence. Often times, all it takes is the realization that He is here, and He loves us, to completely change our outlook in this new day.
